
instigatorI have a particular passion for startups, because I find the process of analyzing the marketplace, defining the potential audience and creating a product that serves both business and audience needs to be thrilling and fascinating work. I have been brought on board properties that needed a brand-new mission, brand architecture, format and content in less than three months in order to make a promised launch (One: Design Matters), and I have taken a 50-year-old brand (Modern Bride), and working with the same exact team that was in place for years before my arrival, completely rebuilt the magazine's mission and presentation, resulting in immediate improvements in both profit and circulation performance. I was brought on board the launch of Time Out New York a mere four weeks before launch, and, working with a team of 48 and the production director, was able to get the magazine up and running in good form, while helping shape the magazine's trademark voice with the editor in chief. I have a specific method for creating new directions for brands and for instigating creative leaps with teams, and a well-tested process for creating engagement and shared mission with a team as well.
